I Made a Bet

T and I made a bet that started yesterday, June 30th. The best was that I could/could not work out every day for 30 days (or the month of July). I am convinced I am able to. He on the other hand knows me all too well and knows that most commitments I make to myself (ie: eating healthy, reading more, working out more…) never really seem to stick. Well, I must say – 2 days so far and 2 workouts have been had.
Yesterday we did “our” usual 2 mile jog through the neighborhood, this morning I awoke at roughly 5am and headed to A Mountain in Tempe for a hike. The hike started out slow, but I made it to the top and back down in 20 minutes. The other hikers all seemed to be doing doubles, so I took a deep breathe and a short break to stretch and headed back up for my very own double. This time I challenged myself – up & down in 15 minutes. It is not a huge mountain, but I am proud to say that I hiked for 35 minutes and scaled a mountain twice.
Ha, so far I have T beat!

    You know what helps me with running? I wear my iPod and on the choruses, I sprint. Then when the regular verses come back on, I jog. Try it.

    I am going to try this out! Sounds like a great way to testthe heart rate…
