Monday Musings
Hello Monday! And what a Monday it is. This Monday after Mother’s Day is always a day that starts with such beauty and joy for me. I was filled to the brim yesterday with love, attention, friendship and a few new favorite things… So let’s get musing and start y’alls Monday’s on the right foot.
1| Friends are the family we choose and I love traveling with my friends. A few of us have an annual girls trip each year and then a few others of us have definitely met in places for quick weekends. If you are planning a trip with a group check out 18 Great Trips to Take with a Group. It will get your planning juices flowing.
2| I am in a new phase of home ownership. It’s the update spaces that feel dull and organize all space immediately. To start I am tackling the laundry room and I am hunting for tropical wallpaper. Some of my favorite wallpaper suppliers — Milton & King, Farrow & Ball, Anthropologie or One Kings Lane.
3| Connection. I live a life filled with desires and one desire is to feel close to people. Connected and close to those handful of people that matter most in my life. But, as life does, sometimes it gets in the way of meaningful relationships outside of my household. LiveStrong has made a beautiful argument for connections with others in their article How lack of connection with others can affect you well-being – and how to find your own support group. Here’s to finding your tribe!
4| In getting my house in order The Container Store has been my home away from home. It has been my life line to completing organization tasks and finding beautiful storage pieces that elevate a room and space. I am loving the neat nooks and crannies of my house now! And it doesn’t hurt that me and the Doodle love getting lost in the store. (Can’t wait to show more room by room.)
5| Keeping with the organization theme… I love a great planner and Erin Condren is a woman after my own tidy and pretty life. I love all the color and creativity she pours into every single organizer. Too bad I don’t need three or four each year.
6| My husband has a love for Oatmeal Cream Pies. Not the store bought kind, but the yummy homemade kind. We have a local bakery the makes a decent one and we visited Pint Size Bakery in St. Louis that has a stellar one. But, St. Louis is titch far for an oatmeal cream pie. So I have scoured the internet and found this recipe. These oatmeal cream pies hit it out of the park! Hurry, go bake a batch for your people!
7| Okay. Okay. Sweet treat talking leads to regret. But, it doesn’t have to… Because Not All Body Fat Is Bad: Here’s What You Need to Know. Find your balance, enjoy your occasional sweet treat and live a healthy, happy life.
8| We are about to travel again real soon (in 36 days to be exact). And per usual, I am all about knowing the health and beauty essentials that one must travel with. Travel & Leisure makes it easy with 53 Travel Health Essentials the Pros Swear By. Time ti stock up on some must haves.
9| Tis the season for pool side drinks and one of my all time favorites is an Aperol Spritz. It’s just sweet enough, bubbly and refreshing. It takes me back to our Cinque Terra trip. Make on and enjoy it poolside this coming weekend.
10| The latest book I am devouring – The Tattooist of Auschwitz. I cannot put it down. Pick it up, read it. It will change you.
Have a lovely week y’all.
